“ I think one’s only hope of doing things that have a new presence, or at least a new accent, is to know what exists, and to work one’s way through it, and to know that it is not necessary to do that thing.” Frank Auerbach

I first read this quote in the book ‘Paint’ by Jeffery Camp. If you are looking for inspiration, read it.

Starting work as a commercial artist In 1972, after a long period in design management I currently work for myself.

For the past 26 years I have only occasionally drawn or painted and only started painting seriously again in early 01.

Although I find figurative work easier, I have recently experimented in mixed media Acrylics, watercolour and charcoal, determined to develop an abstract style and technique that I am comfortable with.

Inspiration is drawn from natural organic forms and textures, the sea, the downland, The Welsh valleys and Brittany.
